The park is very comfortable and clean. The bathrooms are individual which I think many would appreciate. They lack night security, so if you have the misfortune of camping near trashy drunk girls trying to impress their male counter parts with loud off tune sing alongs to Respect by Aretha Franklin, you had better just call the sheriff's department because security bails out of here as soon as the sun goes down. Other than that, the park is great.
No charge for laundry. Wonderful people. Beautiful area. Lovely experience.
We arrived a little after the main office had closed at 5. The gates were still open until 9 and the staff were very friendly, allowing us to find a spot for the night and settle up in the morning. They suggested spots they thought we'd be able to park with ease and were extremely helpful.
Super nice facility, lots of camping, river access, historical site, easy access. Less than 1 hour from New Orleans via toll causeway. Well kept bath houses, and plenty of hot water! Large groups can camp here too, whether primitive camping or RV. Boat launch near site 70 can be busy early morning. Several small towns nearby, with everything you need (except perhaps a bakery open on Mondays!!!)
Beautiful, clean bath/shwr, nice sized sites fairly level, who could ask for more.
